Join Karen Mullen (Aanjegamiinkwe)—Métis citizen, educator, and Master of Arts student—for an MNO Scholar Talks presentation on February 20, 2026, at 6 p.m. EST.

This presentation will explore Indigenous worldviews that understand animals, plants, and other elements as living beings, and examine how concepts of sentience are defined and understood.

If you or a loved one are at risk of experiencing violence, or you are concerned about your relationship dynamics, consider joining us on Tuesday, February 24 from 6:30-8:30p.m. EST for this free online workshop. Hosted by our Community Wellbeing branch and led by self-defense expert, Chris James, this workshop will lead participants through information and skills to enhance safety and self-protection. Learn personal safety skills as well as “street smart” self-defense. While free to attend, registration is required.

Finger Weaving Workshop

Join the MNO Post-Secondary Education team for a virtual Finger Weaving Workshop on February 27 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Participants will explore the cultural importance of finger weaving and learn intermediate-level techniques. Some prior finger weaving experience is recommended.
