In-Person Family Camp 2026
January 29–February 1, 2026



The Métis Nation of Ontario invites Métis families to our Métis Early Learning Winter In-Person Family Camp from January 29–February 1, 2026 at the Canadian Ecology Centre!

Families with early learners (ages 3-12) will celebrate Métis culture through outdoor adventures, workshops, and fun activities. Accommodations, meals, and travel are covered for selected families!

Urban Portage Challenge
September 1 to November 21, 2025



The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is excited to announce the return of the Urban Portage Challenge (UPC)—and this year, we’re all about dogging your steps—literally! Citizens are encouraged to invite their furry or four-legged companions to join in this three-month walking competition as we track which community can rack up the most steps.

Scholar Talks: Indigenous Data Sovereignty with Madeleine Vien

Learn more about Indigenous data sovereignty and community-led approaches to archival work, memory, and public history! Come join Madeleine Vien—Master of Information (MI) graduate student at the University of Toronto and emerging archivist and cultural heritage professional—for an MNO Scholar Talks presentation on October 28th @ 6:00 PM. This presentation explores how Indigenous communities are reclaiming authority over how their histories are recorded and shared, demonstrating what ethical archival work can look like when communities are treated as partners rather than subjects.

Join the MNO Early Learning team for Baking with Heart: A Family Breadmaking Series in November. This new series invites Métis families with early learners aged 3 to 12 to deepen their bread-making skills and explore creative baking together using a bread machine.

Domestic Violence Education Series
Free Zoom Workshops Every Monday 6:30PM to 8:00 PM in November



This series of four workshops will discuss several aspects of domestic violence including but not limited to healthy relationships, red flags, abusive behaviours and tactics, the cycle of abuse, narcissistic abuse, boundaries, consent, deciding whether to flee, safe fleeing, safety planning and much more.

While free to attend, registration is required.

One lucky attendee will have a chance to win our draw prize at the end of the series so make sure you attend all four for your chance!

Calling all Métis artisans and makers! Applications are now open to be a vendor at the 2026 MNO ELCC Conference happening March 6–8 at White Oaks Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
This year’s conference theme, “A Voyage Through the Land and Water Systems: Nature-Based Early Learning,” invites participants to celebrate the connection between Métis culture, land, and learning
Travel, meals, and accommodations will be covered for eligible Métis citizen vendors!
