In Canada, there isn't one specific temperature considered "too hot" to work, as it depends on various factors like the type of work, humidity, health status and individual acclimatization. However, generally, temperatures above 26-30°C, especially with high humidity or strenuous work, can pose risks of heat stress. A temperature of 27°C triggers the OSHA heat safety requirements. When the combined heat and humidity reaches 27°C, employers must provide water and rest breaks. If the heat and humidity index climbs to 32°C, stricter rules apply. Please reach out to the OHS inbox if you would like further training or information on working in the elements.
