Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) and Yorkville University have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding

Mar 25, 2026

The Métis Nation of Ontario is proud to announce the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding with Yorkville University.

The agreement will help expand post-secondary education opportunities for Métis citizens and reflects a shared commitment to supporting Métis learners and strengthening pathways to education and career development.

Yorkville University will provide several supports aimed at helping MNO citizens access and pursue their studies. These include a waived application fee and tuition bursaries for Métis citizens enrolling in programs at Yorkville University and Toronto Film School. Additional bursaries will also be available to MNO employees and their immediate family members who choose to study at the institution.

Métis students who attend Yorkville will also have the opportunity to participate in Yorkville University’s Indigenous Student Advisory Council. The council helps ensure Indigenous perspectives inform the university’s approach to Indigenous education and student supports.

To introduce these opportunities, Yorkville University and Toronto Film School plan to host a virtual information session for MNO citizens in April 2026. The session will provide an overview of available programs, bursaries, and supports, and offer citizens an opportunity to learn more about how this partnership may support their educational journey.

The MNO is pleased to build this partnership with Yorkville University and remains committed to supporting Métis citizens as they pursue new educational opportunities.
