The MNO is taking an important step toward expanding Métis early learning in Sault Ste. Marie.
The MNO has secured a child care centre property in the community, helping preserve licensed child care spaces while expanding access to affordable, culturally grounded early learning for local families.
On September 17, the MNO and the District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board signed a memorandum of understanding formalizing their collaboration to develop licensed child care programs that support Métis children and families.
Once renovated and reopened, the centre will offer licensed child care, Métis-focused programming, culturally grounded learning opportunities, and eight additional preschool spaces.
